Caldbeck wander…

My bipolar symptoms have been surfacing a bit this week, nothing to be overly concerned about, but enough to make the days more challenging than they should be.

Kath planned to do her evening run from Caldbeck village, so I decided it would help clear my head if I took a walk along the beck in the village whilst Kath ran.

The car park was full of bird song, with Chaffinch, Blackcap, Common Chiffchaff and Willow Warbler all noted. There was a Pied Wagtail catching insects on the beck, presumably feeding young nearby.

Nice and close

A White-throated Dipper put in an appearance a couple of times, but always too quick for my camera. They are always exciting to see though.

Male Chaffinch perched on a mossy branch facing to the right. The bird has a chestnut face, throat, breast, belly and underparts, with a grey cap that extends in a narrow band below the chin, the brown back and flight feathers contrast with extensive wing bars.

A smart male Chaffinch perched up and allowed me to photograph it as I returned the carpark. It had been a nice wander and definitely allowed my brain to breath!
